Note the stark contrast in this picture.

No CEL?

I can only conclude that you purchased the watch in a Shanghai alley for $50.

Maybe if I drove a Versa full time, although that would give me more money for watches.

Define “ alive” in this context...
![]() 04/30/2019 at 21:13 |

But are you alive on the inside too?

Both BMWs have been CEL free for over a month now. The 3 knows it’s close to getting replaced if it keeps that shit up.

I’m still performing cellular respiration , somehow. The knowledge that I will be back in an E9X Thursday keeps me going.

I’m as alive as the Versa’s acceleration, barely.
![]() 04/30/2019 at 21:17 |

The Versa will take a licking and keep on ticking. Ya gotta give it that.
But that’s all you gotta give it.

I got the insurance on it. I’m considering torching it.

Stay strong.
And don’ t t ry to merge onto any busy interstates.

Reminds me of this gem.

redline in neutral and put it in drive :P

I’d be uncertain as to whether the 3 cares. It is a BMW after all and it has a heritage to maintain (he says in that deluded tone common to owners of water-cooled Volkswagen's)
![]() 04/30/2019 at 21:26 |

Ah, the classic neutral drop.

Just think. I rented one of those in MONTANA. Where yeah, there isn’t traffic to merge into, BUT you can go 70-80 like, everywhere. Except, if you have a rental Nissan Versa. I had my foot planted to the floor a LOT.
One day we took 4 people into yellowstone, in that car. It was actually kinda fun trying to get up to 60. It took a lloooonnngggg time.

Do these have the CVT? Does a neutral drop work with a CVT?

That sounds miserable . It really does have no power, and to think I thought my 328i was slow.

Just remember: the fastest car you’ll ever drive is one you don’t own. I suggest hooning the shit out of it!
(However, I do realize that’s a bit hard, because not only is it slower than tectonic shift, it is by no means an enjoyable car to drive. A Mirage is better in driving dynamics. )

I fear if I push it too hard I might actually die.

Well I’m stuck with an Altima while the Odyssey gets fixed so it can’t be that much better, right?

It will be quick and painless

You might die from boredom waiting the 15 minutes or so for it to reach highway speed. Or the drone from the engine gnashing away at 4500 RPM due to the CVT will do you in.

I’m not sure if there is a manufacturer worse than Nissan right now. You might say Mitsubishi, but those cars are a lot more honest about what they are. Every time I drive a Nissan, I think “wow, my life could actually be this bad”.

As an aside, I drove a Volvo V40 in Germany with the 150hp base motor. It was governed to 121 mph. I know that because I did 112mph every tailwind I could get. It took FOREVER (we’re talking 3-4 minutes) to reach top speed.

I had a Mercedes B180 in Germany, and despite only having 123hp it would get to its limited speed of 122 MPH with little to no problems. It honestly didn’t really feel that slow.

Nissan seems to have stopped updating their cars after the year 2000, they decided that was a good year and left it at that. A friends sister had a 1996 Sentra, and maybe it was because I was 16, but I actually liked that car.

Had one of these as a rental in Colorado... Poor engine never got a break
